With World Environment Day coming up, we would like to share with you some information about what this day means and what switches we have made to become more eco-friendly.
June 5th is World Environment Day.
What is World Environment Day?
World Environment Day is meant to encourage action and spread awareness in efforts to protect our environment.
Since 1974, this day has been celebrated every year on June 5th. The goal is engage citizens, governments and businesses to consider possible ways to think and act more sustainably.
Let's take action to save our planet. We can't turn back time on the harm our Earth has endured, but we can adopt new practices and enhance old ones that allow for sustainability to start in your home. Everyone can do their part to save their home by shopping more sustainably, thinking green, and becoming more eco-conscious.
What has Jūpmode done to think green?
Last year we made several decisions to reduce our waste. The apparel industry is well known for lacking sustainable and environmentally practices. One of the biggest changes we made was switching the blank shirt we use to Allmade. These shirts are made in a Fair Trade facility and each shirt contains fabric made from recycled plastic bottles.
In the past couple of months, we have started a program called Reūse. This means that you're able to bring in used clothing from our retail line and get $5 credit towards a same day purchase (with the limit of one credit per transaction).
We want to do our part in efforts to eliminating waste and taking action towards bettering the environment. Make sure to give your old, well-loved Jūpmode apparel a second life!
We don't care how old your shirt is, if it has a stain, a hole, or anything else. We just want your old Jūpmode shirts before they end up in a landfill. Be sure to think green and think to Reūse.
