Jūpmode started in Perrysburg but found its permanent home on Adams Street, a part of Toledo where many people found their home. Bretz, formally located on Adams, provided a home to the LGBTQ community in Toledo decades ago when safe spaces weren’t easy to come by for the community.
Today, Adams Street continues its tradition of being home to an inclusive community, so much so that part of the street now proudly trades its name for Pride Way. This is a great tribute to the street that is the start of the Toledo Pride parade and the Toledo Loves Love wall.
In Toledo, pride month is celebrated in August. This gives Toledoans an extra month of pride each year and is why we released our Pride is the Adams Way shirt in August. This shirt is the newest addition to our Pride shirt collection.
Inclusivity, equality, pride, it’s the Adams Street way. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this shirt will be donated to EqualityToledo.
