Feet on the Street hosted their 12th annual 12 Kids of Christmas program on Wednesday. This is one of the best events in Toledo. It pairs local underprivileged children referred by Lucas County Children Services with police officers and military service members to go Christmas shopping.
The children get a police escort to a Meijer store where they do their shopping. It’s an opportunity to buy gifts for their family, but also to meet police officers on a personal level and build a positive relationship with them.
We have gotten to know this program because it is run by Zach Stewart, an old friend and partner of ours at CGS. For the last handful of years, we've been printing hoodies for all of the children involved in the program. It's one of very few jobs that we actively look forward to each year. We've always taken pride in our job but it becomes fulfilling when we work with organizations like Feet on the Street and programs like 12 Kids of Christmas.
